Description
SUMMARY
The Engineering Technician will provide field service and engineering support for rig monitoring systems that requires frequent travel to field offices and customer locations. The Engineering Technician is responsible for implementing technological enhancements and solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support, maintain and service rig monitoring data systems and technology packages
Install, commission, calibrate, and repair electronic components at rig sites
Ensure quality control, data integrity and reliability of rig monitoring systems
Provide engineering and technical support to operations and field staff
Communicate and interface with customers remotely and in person
Troubleshoot and resolve rig monitoring system or data issues; perform repairs and implement corrective actions or best practices
Work with operations and equipment providers to develop product improvements and preventative maintenance practices
Work in partnership with suppliers, purchasing teams and establish inventory control measures
Develop, benchmark and track goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to present to internal and external customers
Engage employees and customers to identify market needs, complimentary products or services and growth opportunities
Analyze real time data, complex data sets and maintain databases for operational or business analysis
Prepare lookbacks and generate post job reports
Gather competitor strategic and tactical intelligence
Define Ranger's value proposition and develop value-based selling tools
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Ability to travel as required
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
This position is based in Midland, Texas and will require frequent visits to field sites
Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration
Fundamental understanding of equipment and electronic systems and ability to perform required repairs
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven project management skills
Collaboration, teamwork, strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
Understanding and adherence to company specific and industry safety procedures
General knowledge of oilfield operations or experience in field service is a plus
COMPUTER
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel; PowerBI a plus
Information Technology, data science or software development a plus
