Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Engineering Technician to support engineering and testing operations within an industrial environment.

Job Description

• Support engineering testing operations involving pressure vessels and specialized testing systems.
• Assist with the safe preparation, handling, and testing of explosive materials and associated components in accordance with established procedures and safety regulations.
  
• Perform occasional component fabrication and machining using equipment such as: Lathes, Milling machines / end mills, Band saws
  
• Maintain accurate explosive material records and inventory documentation.
  
• Collect, record, and organize test data and technical documentation.
  
• Assist with pressure testing operations and related equipment preparation.
  
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required and when appropriately trained and authorized.
  
• Perform routine maintenance of facilities, tools, and equipment.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and shop environment.
  
• Follow all workplace safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), identify potential hazards, and promptly report or address unsafe conditions.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Skills Required

• Some machining or mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with established procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and technical documentation.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on technical environment involving pressure testing equipment and laboratory operations.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn specialized testing procedures and participate in provided training.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous exposure to pressure vessels, pressure systems, or industrial testing equipment.
• Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with operating or working around: Lathes, Milling machines, Band saws, General machine shop equipment
• Technical school training, machining coursework, or practical mechanical experience.
• Experience with component fabrication, assembly, or modification.
• Previous experience in engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
• Forklift or overhead crane operating experience.

Education

• Highschool diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $27 - $32 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)

Additional Details

• Standard schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Friday: Half-day schedule.
  
• Must be available to work overtime when business needs require it.
  
• Role involves hands-on work in a laboratory, workshop, and industrial testing environment.
  
• Appropriate safety training and PPE will be provided.
