The instructor will provide instruction in the appropriate field. Additionally, the instructor will develop curriculum, syllabus, assessment of program and course learning outcomes and provide instructional materials and personal insight to provide students with the most optimum opportunity to learn a particular course of study.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in English Composition or related field
Studied or taught composition theory and research methods
Demonstrated effectiveness in the instruction of the following areas: basic English, writing
Demonstrated knowledge of online teaching platforms, capability to develop online courses
Excellent written and oral communication skills Dedicated to student learning
Knowledge of the pedagogy of Developmental Education instruction
Knowledge of ADA compliance regulations
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to use and apply alternative instructional delivery systems to enhance learning
Experienced in curriculum development and learning assessment
Demonstrated ability to work with students and fellow staff members in a strong teaching and learning environment
Desired Qualifications
Experience teaching in post-secondary setting
Ability to easily assimilate into a community college environment
Ability to assist Lead Instructor in textbook adoptions and original text materials
Background in college committee membership

Possess a wide range of knowledge, talents, and skills to facilitate making learning factual and enjoyable to the students.
Recommend budgetary revisions, the selection of teaching materials, curriculum revisions,textbooks and supplies to the Division Dean.
Keep abreast of the latest theories of learning through university training, in-serviceeducation and staff meetings, conferences and conventions approved by the College.
Develop and implement instructions, evaluation and assessment techniques, and methodsthat are appropriate and timely for each class.
Demonstrate proficiency in the latest technology. Willingness to incorporate technology inthe classroom.
Ability to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, and deans.
Promote the College by participating internally on campus activities and committees and externally in the communities that it serves.
Maintains professional competency within relevant discipline.
Participates in student recruitment activities.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
