Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans and delivers lessons to promote students' English language development.
  • Collaborates with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure achievement of EL/MLs across content areas through the Sheltered Instruction and the English Language Development program models.
  • Administers formative and summative assessments to monitor language progress and ensure student achievement.
  • Completes documentation required for compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Completes daily logs of student services.
  • Attends regular Professional Development offerings.
  • Be available for afternoon and evening parent-teacher conferences and school events.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid teacher license in the applicable grade level for the state in which you are applying.
  • Candidates for English Language (EL) Teacher positions should preferably hold a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education endorsement. Minimally, candidates for this position must be on an approved pathway for gaining licensure and obtain a CLD endorsement within 2 years of certification.

$62,833.00 to $68,561.00 will be the pay range and is commensurate with experience, education, and market as defined by NHA. The pay range listed is just one component of NHA''s total compensation package.
