English Language Learning Tutor-Middle School

7 Hours Per Day / 35 Hours Per Week

$18.70 - $22.47 per hour

The Beaver Dam Unified School District seeks an ELL Tutor to serve our English Language Learners, for the 2026-27 school year. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to serve students in a well-paying, highly collaborative, and progressive district.

• Collaborate with English Language Learner teacher(s) to provide services to staff and students.

• Support students with ELL needs in the general classroom setting.

• Facilitate ELL resource periods.

• Provide support for students with ELL needs in classrooms, in small group settings, or other such opportunities under the support and direction of an ELL certified educator.

• Support classroom teachers in modifying assignments for students with ELL needs and/or implementing strategies that support students in need of ELL support.

• Most supported students speak Spanish, so the ability to speak Spanish to communicate with the students is preferred.

Applicants for the position should also possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

1. Two years post-high school experience and previous experience working with middle school level students preferred.

2. Possess excellent conflict resolution skills and non-violent crisis intervention techniques.

3. Ability to tutor and assist students individually with classroom assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.

4. Ability to use a variety of technology and computer systems (Google, Microsoft, Skyward) to enter and track student data.

5. Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff using written and oral communication techniques.

6. Ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision.

7. Ability to administer and score achievement and diagnostic tests as needed.

8. Ability to work as a productive member of the ELL Department team.
