English Learner (EL) Paraeducator

(Multiple openings)

10-month position

Hourly Rate: $19.37 pending union negotiations

Candidates fluent in Spanish, Arabic and Nepali strongly encouraged to apply

Must have an academic degree or have earned at least 60 college credits, or have passed the ParaPathways (formerly ParaPro) assessment

Example of Essentials Duties:

• Provide supplemental instruction for identified EL students under the direction of the EL and classroom teacher in the areas of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Assists the teacher in establishing and maintaining a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Assists the teacher with classroom duties and setup and preparing and maintain classroom materials and supplies
• Provide specific modifications, and/or accommodations, for assigned student(s). This can include repeating directions, performing task analysis, reading assignments or tests, document instructions and organize homework assignments.
