ENT Technician Responsibilities
Prepare patients for ENT examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
Assist physicians during diagnostic tests such as audiometry, endoscopy, and other ENT-specific evaluations.
Collect and document patient information including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance details, updating medical records, and managing appointment scheduling.
Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and maintaining sterile environments for procedures.
Monitor patient status during outpatient visits or inpatient stays, ensuring accurate recording of clinical data and adherence to safety protocols.
Maintain medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding, medical terminology accuracy, and detailed notes on patient care activities.
Requirements
Proven experience supporting ENT or related specialties such as dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care environments.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to ENT structures and functions.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient management of electronic health records.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like pharmacology or medical assisting are advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to perform medical administrative support tasks including intake procedures, vital signs collection, and medical records management.
Prior inpatient or outpatient experience within hospital settings or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients.
