    Description

    About the Role

Our client is an established, growing organization whose technology environment is predominantly (roughly 80%) Microsoft Dynamics 365, supplemented by ServiceNow for customer support, alongside a broader footprint of Microsoft-stack and legacy applications. They are hiring an Applications Architect to own technical direction across this environment — someone who has spent 8+ years designing, building, and governing solutions on the Microsoft platform and is ready to operate at an architecture level.

This is a senior, hands-on architecture role: setting technical standards, making integration and design decisions, and staying close enough to the code to guide and review the team's work. The ideal candidate has deep, long-tenured experience inside Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft ecosystem specifically, with working knowledge of ServiceNow as part of the broader system landscape.

    What You'll Do

    • Own the architecture for customizations and plugins within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (C#/.NET), setting the technical direction for how the platform is extended and automated.
    • Architect client-side extensions and UI customizations (JavaScript/TypeScript) that align with platform upgrade paths and long-term maintainability.
    • Design and govern integrations across enterprise systems using Azure (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Functions), keeping data in sync between Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, and adjacent Microsoft applications.
    • Define integration patterns and API standards (REST/SOAP) used across internal and external system consumers.
    • Guide the database architecture supporting the platform — schema design, performance tuning, and migrations on SQL Server.
    • Build working fluency in ServiceNow — its role in customer support workflows and how it connects to the Microsoft stack — to advise on integration and modernization decisions.
    • Partner directly with product, support, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical architecture.
    • Set best practices for extending and modernizing legacy applications, and mentor engineers building against the platform.
    • Document architectural decisions and serve as the technical point of escalation for the Dynamics 365 environment.

    What We're Looking For

    Required

    • 8+ years of professional software engineering/architecture experience, the majority of it within Microsoft-centric enterprise environments.
    • Deep, hands-on experience architecting and customizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 — plugin development in C#/.NET and client-side extensions in JavaScript/TypeScript.
    • Strong track record designing enterprise integrations using Azure (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Functions, or equivalent).
