    Job Description

    Position Summary

    Performs skilled fire fighting work to prevent and suppress fires. Entrance to the department shall be through competitive Civil Service Examination. Those selected from the Civil Service eligibility list shall serve twelve months as probationary fire fighters and upon completion of the probationary period be certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. If their services have been satisfactory they become a classified employee under civil service law.
