About NYNE

NYNE Mechanical, a division of NECI, is a team of talented problem solvers who can see beyond the immediate effect of a breakdown to the root cause. Our entrepreneurial culture encourages and rewards those who can think like our clients and make recommendations to improve their uptime performance.

Launch a High-Demand Mechanical Career — Paid Training Provided

    • Compensation $19.00–$23.00/hour base + travel premiums + daily per diem + overtime
    • Employment Full-time, permanent

Are you mechanically inclined, do you enjoy working with your hands, and are you looking for a company willing to invest in your skills?

NYNE Mechanical, a division of NECI, is hiring an Entry-Level Mechanical Field Service Technician. Prior industrial valve experience is not required. If you have mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn, our senior technicians will teach you how to inspect, rebuild, calibrate, and service high-value industrial equipment across New England.

    Who Thrives in This Role?

This role is a strong fit for people who enjoy taking things apart, diagnosing mechanical problems, and putting them back together. We encourage applicants with transferable hands-on experience, including:

    • Automotive service technicians, lube technicians, or self-taught mechanics
    • Military veterans with mechanical, aviation, motor pool, or machinery maintenance backgrounds
    • Small engine, motorcycle, or bicycle repair technicians
    • HVAC helpers, plumbing apprentices, or commercial maintenance assistants
    • Trade school graduates in mechanical, welding, machining, or electrical programs
    • Assembly technicians, equipment operators, or maintenance workers

    What You’ll Do

    • Learn the trade: Work alongside experienced technicians in the shop and field to inspect, disassemble, clean, repair, and test safety relief valves, isolation valves, and actuators.
    • Troubleshoot and repair: Learn to identify worn components, troubleshoot failures, and calibrate precision mechanical equipment.
    • Support field work: Travel to industrial customer sites throughout New England and help set up tools, replacement parts, and field workstations safely and efficiently.
    • Document work: Record repair steps, capture equipment photos, and log work orders accurately using digital tools, including Microsoft 365.
    • Maintain readiness: Keep work areas, service vehicles, trailers, and shop equipment organized, clean, and stocked in accordance with 5S safety standards.

    What You Bring

    • Mechanical aptitude: Comfort using common hand and power tools and a basic understanding of mechanical systems.
    • Willingness to travel: Ability to travel extensively throughout New England, including planned multi-week overnight trips during the year.
    • Valid driver’s license: A clean driving record is required to operate company service vehicles.
    • Reliability and teamwork: A dependable, safety-first mindset and clear communication skills.
    • Physical capability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, crouch, and work in varied shop and industrial plant environments.
    • Schedule flexibility: Availability for paid overtime, weekends, and off-hours during peak customer shutdown periods.
    • Trade school education or prior mechanical experience is welcome, but motivation and coachability matter most.

    Total Compensation & Earning Potential

    • Base pay: $19.00–$23.00/hour, based on transferable mechanical experience.
    • Travel premiums: Additional hourly differential on top of base pay during eligible travel and field assignments.
    • Daily per diem: Company-provided daily meal/travel stipend during travel.
    • Overtime opportunity: Frequent overtime opportunities during major industrial service seasons.

The posted salary range represents a good faith estimate of the expected base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, assignment mix, and business needs.
