Entry Level Service Technician

Nye Ford is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Service Technician to join our growing service department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or continue their automotive career in a dealership environment while learning from an experienced team.

In this role, you’ll assist with routine maintenance and basic repair work while receiving hands-on training and opportunities for career advancement through Ford training programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, fluid checks, and basic brake services
• Assist experienced technicians with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
• Complete multi-point vehicle inspections and document findings accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Test-drive vehicles when necessary under dealership guidelines
• Follow manufacturer recommendations, dealership standards, and safety procedures
• Use dealership tools and equipment properly and responsibly
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members
• Continue developing technical skills through Ford and dealership training programs

Qualifications

• Ability to commute to 1479 Genesee St, Oneida, NY 13421 (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Previous automotive experience, technical school training, or personal mechanical experience preferred
• Willingness to learn and grow in the automotive industry
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair is a plus
• NY State Inspector License is a plus
• ASE certifications are a plus, or willingness to work toward certification
