Vision for Education are looking to grow their talented and driven SEND Teaching Assistant team with vacancies for entry level candidates working with schools across the Lancaster and south Cumbria areas.
About the role
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be tasked with working with classes made up of students aged between 5 and 16 across a variety of educational settings, working closely with students that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Any candidate for this role must have completed a minimum of 5 days of experience working with children within the last 2 years to be considered for working in schools and other educational settings.
Working under the direction of the class teacher, the ideal Teaching Assistant will be energetic, flexible, positive and patient, with an ability to build strong working relationships with young people.
Duties will include:
Supporting the class teacher to deliver work in accordance with the National Curriculum
Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management
Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis
Contributing to record keeping, liaising with parents and multidisciplinary teams and attending school trips/outings
Working with Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) to ensure the best progress for students with SEND.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Entry Level Teaching Assistant you will:
Have experience working with young people with barriers to learning.
Be proactive and empathetic in your approach, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students you work with.
Be an excellent communicator, able to work well as part of a wider team.
Be adaptable and have experience working in changing situations.
Have confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours.

Salary
£65 to £75 per day
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
relevant experience and qualifications associated with children and young adults.
