ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hr

Job Overview:

The ENTRY PSR I/Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The candidate will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. The candidate will utilize phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization. The candidate has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this candidate will be crucial to maintaining the integrity of the lobby and ensuring that all patients are provided with the expected level of service. This is primarily a Lobby Greeter position to help patients check in at the kiosk and to help them feel more comfortable while waiting to have labs run, while also filling in for breaks and covering for staffing shortages.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public, along with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help cover breaks.
• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence, following established practices and procedures.

Job Requirements:

High level of customer service experience and skills are required, as this is critical to the heart of the role.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, including basic internship or externship training.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience is required (e.g., retail, home health aide).
• Some phlebotomy experience is required.
• Keyboarding and data entry experience is required.
