Our client, an environmental services company based in Allentown, is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to join their regulatory affairs team. This role manages compliance activities related to air, water, and waste permits for industrial and municipal clients across the Lehigh Valley region.

The position requires close coordination with state and federal regulatory agencies, including the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the EPA. The successful candidate will conduct site inspections, prepare permit applications, and maintain documentation required for ongoing regulatory audits.

This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to work directly with facility managers and engineering teams to develop practical compliance strategies. Candidates with a background in environmental science, engineering, or a related regulatory field are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine environmental compliance audits at client facilities
  • Prepare and submit air, water, and waste permit applications to regulatory agencies
  • Monitor changes in federal and state environmental regulations
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and recordkeeping systems
  • Coordinate with facility managers to implement corrective action plans
  • Respond to regulatory agency inquiries and inspection requests
  • Develop and deliver environmental compliance training for client staff
  • Track permit renewal deadlines and reporting obligations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory affairs
  • Working knowledge of RCRA, CWA, and CAA regulations
  • Experience preparing permit applications and regulatory submissions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with environmental data management software
  • Valid driver's license for periodic site visits
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements
