Environmental/Natural Resources Attorney (7+ Years) - Seattle, WA

Schwabe currently has an opening in its Seattle, Washington office for a full-time lawyer to work in a thriving, diverse environmental and natural resources practice. The ideal candidate will have:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• 7+ years of related experience with environmental and natural resources
• Knowledge and experience with state and federal laws related to environmental cleanup, air quality, fish and wildlife, hazardous wastes, water quality, removal/fill (wetlands), and water rights
• Knowledge of and experience with Federal Indian Law
• Strong interest in engaging in the natural resource or other industry groups and business development
• Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid legal research, writing, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work hard in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence
• A track record showing exemplary client service, organizational skills, and teamwork
• Excellent skills in legal research, analysis, writing, and in communication
• Some portable book of business and/or demonstrated success in developing a client portfolio
• Washington State Bar or Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity is required

The base pay range for this position is $185,000-$225,000, depending on job skills and legal practice experience relevant to the position. Higher base compensation may be available depending on the candidates portable book of business. The position is also eligible for productivity and discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year. In order to cultivate our collaborative culture and better serve our firm clients, most lawyer positions at Schwabe require in-person work in our offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility on Mondays and Fridays to work offsite.
