Job Summary:
The Epic Web and Service Server Engineer will contribute to developing and applying their technical expertise on the Epic technical team that supports Cook Childrens Epic technical infrastructure. This includes technologies, systems, networks, data architectures, capacity planning, system performance, and configuration management. Jobs in this family are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying Epic technologies. In addition, they are responsible for the establishment, development, and promotion of Epic architecture, as well as hardware and software components. This role provides consulting services to the Epic application development teams and/or customers regarding technologies and the application of Epic technology standards.

--Development/Support:
-The Epic Web/Service Server Engineer installs, manages, and configures the Epic application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
-Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system, applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production Web server components, assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals.
-Follows vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration.
-Responsible for creating and updating documentation and maintaining current system details in a centralized knowledge base.
-Collaborating with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support.
-Maintaining knowledge and testing processes for supporting outstanding issues and tasks such as supporting Business Continuity, retooling emerging technologies, capacity planning, and other Epic application maintenance requirements.
