About the Role
Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) seeks a highly analytical and collaborative Epidemiologist / Population Health Data Scientist to join the Department of Pediatrics in support of the Solve Sickle Cell Initiative. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to population health and outcomes research, design and analyze epidemiologic studies, and support the integration of basic science discoveries into clinical care across hospital and community settings. Findings from community implementation and health services research will, in turn, inform future translational and basic science questions, reinforcing a bidirectional research model.
Program Description
Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (Children's), and Emory University School of Medicine (Emory) are partnering in a $16M expansion of their Sickle Cell Disease Program called the Georgia Solve Sickle Cell Disease Initiative (Solve Sickle). The Initiative is supported by the Georgia Research Alliance, and investments from MSM, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Emory University. This initiative will focus on the development, testing, and implementation of new therapies in sickle cell disease and includes the addition of three faculty members at Emory and MSM. The Department of Pediatics at MSM invites qualified applicants to apply for the keystone position of this initiative as Data Scientist/Epidemiologist.

Immunization Requirements
It is MSM's Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate's offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
