Purpose Of Position
Operate medium to large-sized equipment, including backhoe, loader, bulldozer, and track hoe, to install or repair underground utilities and drive/load a dump truck. Operate haul rig with a trailer loaded with wide loads. Act as backup crew leader during his absence and supervise 3-5 crew members. Perform regular labor duties and use various hand tools to maintain and repair water and sewer mains. Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., nights, weekends, overtime and on-call rotation as required

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or GED is required, plus at least three (3) years of job-related experience. Must be able to operate various hand and gas-powered tools (hammer, ratchets, saws, electric pumps, etc.).
Must possess a valid Texas Class "A" Commercial Drivers License, air brake endorsement, and a clean driving record. Must possess a TCEQ Class "C" Water Distribution/Class "1" Wastewater Collection License or can obtain one within one (1) year.

The City of Tyler will accept two years of relevant experience in place of each year of college required in the job description. Four years of relevant experience will be considered in place of an Associates Degree, and eight years of relevant experience will be considered in place of a Bachelors Degree. Any experience required in the Minimum qualifications is in addition to years of experience substituted for a degree.
