Position Reports To: Sewing ManagerDept: Equipment

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM DETAILSThis 7-week sewing apprenticeship is designed to train participants in the essential tasks, skills, and knowledge required to become successful sewing technicians. The program combines hands-on, practical training with foundational instruction in sewing techniques, equipment handling, workplace safety, and quality control. Participants will gain experience in Athletic sewing processes, fabric handling, and garment construction while developing the technical proficiency and work habits needed for employment in this industry. The intent of the program is to have two apprentices transition into a permanent part-time sewing technician with our team. Apprentice's eligibility to continue on and be hired as a permanent part-time sewing technician role will be assessed by the Sewing Manager at the end of the Apprenticeship Program.Essential Functions:

Responsible for sewing/mending all aspects of player uniforms and coaching apparel for the team including but not limited to:

a. General sewing and alterations of player uniforms and coaching apparelb. Construct jerseys from blanksc. Heat pressingd. Use and cursory maintenance of embroidery machinee. Proper repair of uniformsf. Construction of knee and thigh padsg. Repair of select equipment

Responsible for accurate measurements, hemming, mending, repairing, and reconstruction of garments as needed in a precise manner.Perform alterations as needed to ensure proper fit of garmentOperate specialized sewing & embroidery equipment in a safe mannerPerform accurate and detailed work in a timely manner in accordance with department standardsEnsure sewing room is properly clean and organizedAssist other team members as neededCommunicate effectively with team management and other team members

Required Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of professional level sewing and alterations experienceHigh school diploma or higher preferredExpert in the field of sewing

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

Excellent attention to detailEffective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsMust be a team playerMust be able to communicate effectivelyComputer proficiency in MS word, ExcelAbility to work successfully in a fast-paced environment

Position Details:

Part-time position (less than 30 hours a week)Must be able to work a consistent (albeit flexible) scheduleSome weekend, holiday, and evening work will be requiredAll equipment is provided

Salary: $ 20 per hour w/ daily meals provided
