ERP Accounting Manager

A growing energy company is seeking an ERP Accounting Manager to join their Houston, TX office. This role will lead the design, governance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes within the ERP environment, partnering across Accounting and other business functions to strengthen transaction accuracy, enhance automation, and maintain financial control. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise paired with a process improvement mindset and a passion for driving scalable, efficient finance operations.Location and Schedule This is a hybrid position based in Houston, TX.Responsibilities Serve as the accounting lead for ERP transaction flow design and accounting treatment decisionsDefine and maintain accounting coding logic, defaulting strategies, and financial governance standardsEstablish scalable, rules based approaches to systematically derive account coding where appropriateEnsure accounting consistency across Accounts Payable, Procurement, Expenses, Projects, Fixed Assets, and other ERP modulesAnalyze current state finance processes and identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effortLead initiatives to improve ERP usability, automation, and transaction processing efficiencyPartner with the Financial Systems team to implement configuration enhancementsDrive simplification of approval workflows, data entry requirements, and exception handling processesIdentify and implement automation opportunities across general ledger account derivation, project and task coding, supplier defaults, intercompany allocations, and accrual and allocation logicDevelop scalable business rules that improve accuracy while reducing dependency on end user accounting expertiseCollaborate on artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, and other intelligent automation initiatives within finance operationsEnsure accounting processes comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policiesEvaluate the impact of process and system changes on financial reporting integritySupport testing, validation, and documentation for ERP enhancements and system upgradesAct as a strategic liaison between Accounting, IT, and ERP support teamsLead workshops and process improvement sessions with key stakeholdersProvide training and guidance to end users on optimized finance processes and system usageRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldAt least 6 years of experience in accounting or ERP process managementStrong understanding of ERP transaction flows and their accounting implicationsDemonstrated experience designing or improving accounting processes within ERP platformsStrong analytical, process improvement, and problem solving capabilitiesAbility to translate accounting requirements into scalable operational solutionsPreferred Qualifications CPA or CMA certificationExperience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP or a similar enterprise resource planning platformExperience with workflow automation, reporting tools, or business process redesign initiativesKnowledge of Procure to Pay, Expense Management, Projects, and General Ledger integrations#J-18808-Ljbffr
