Estimating Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Columbia, SC area. Our client is seeking a Senior / Lead Estimator to lead complex bids and help guide the estimating function.

Position Responsibilities:

- Lead estimates on large and complex structural steel projects

- Review and approve estimates prepared by other estimators

- Develop bid strategy with leadership

- Build relationships with general contractors and key customers

- Mentor and develop estimators

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Perform and review takeoffs, pricing, and labor productivity

- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes

- Lead bid reviews and post-bid negotiations

- Maintain cost databases and estimating standards

- Support project turnover and track estimate-to-actual performance

Position Skills:

- 5+ years of estimating experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or PEMB

- Experience estimating large commercial or industrial projects

- Proficiency with Tekla PowerFab, Bluebeam, or similar

- Strong knowledge of fabrication and erection methods

- Leadership and mentoring experience
