We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in underground utilities and infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for public and private projects while collaborating closely with operations and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Develop budgets, value engineering alternatives, and project schedules during the preconstruction phase.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure smooth project handoffs after award.
  • Maintain knowledge of current market pricing, labor costs, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience estimating underground utility, site development, earthwork, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, HCSS, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
