Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate estimates, building out construction schedules, and understanding the full project approach to support KR's goal of winning work and delivering exceptional results.

This role requires a deep understanding of commercial construction methods, critical sequencing, and the ability to visualize how a project comes together in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and Interpret Project Plans & Specs: Analyze construction drawings and specifications to determine scope and ensure understanding of all requirements.
• Develop Cost Estimates: Complete detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs using estimating software.
• Schedule Development: Build project schedules from scratch in coordination with our construction teams, identifying key milestones and sequencing requirements.
• Project Approach Strategy: Contribute to the development of compelling bid packages that include a strong project execution strategy and schedule narrative.
• Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit, evaluate, and incorporate subcontractor quotes. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Preconstruction Coordinator, Project Managers, and the CEO to assemble complete, strategic bids.
• Quality Control: Review and finalize all bid submissions for accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with KR's standards.
• Market Research: Stay up-to-date on commercial construction trends, local labor rates, and material pricing to support competitive bidding.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing and scheduling
• Proven ability to build construction schedules in Microsoft Project or similar tools
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with Procore or similar project management platforms is a plus

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based at our Colorado Springs headquarters
• Occasional site visits for pre-bid walkthroughs or scope clarifications
• Standard hours with extended hours during peak bidding times
