Commercial Construction EstimatorPrepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bid proposals for commercial construction projects.Attend pre-bid meetings and job site visits to evaluate project scope, risks, logistics, and opportunities.Analyse plans, specifications, drawings, and site conditions to produce accurate and comprehensive estimates.Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and qualify subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure strong bid coverage and competitiveness.Collaborate closely with Project Managers, architects, developers, owners, and field teams throughout the preconstruction process.Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with executive leadership to ensure accuracy and alignment with project objectives.Maintain cost history databases and track estimated versus actual project costs to improve future estimating performance.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. Experience estimating ground-up construction, renovations, retrofits, and tenant improvement projects is required. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience is preferred. Experience with conceptual estimating, negotiated work, hard-bid procurement, and competitive bidding is required. Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, materials, building systems, and municipal requirements is required. Proven ability to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, and development partners is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; experience with estimating and quantity takeoff software is highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation capabilities are required. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.
