Job Description

Misc. Metals Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Misc. Metals Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for miscellaneous metals fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabricated metals, shop processes, and installation requirements, with experience estimating items such as stairs, railings, ladders, embeds, bollards, and other miscellaneous metal components.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates and bids for misc. metals fabrication projects.
  • Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Perform material and quantity takeoffs.
  • Estimate labor, materials, fabrication, finishing, delivery, and installation costs.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids.
  • Communicate with general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Assist with change orders and project pricing when needed.
  • Track bid opportunities and follow up on outstanding estimates.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience estimating misc. metals fabrication projects.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication and installation processes.
  • Experience with stairs, railings, ladders, embeds, bollards, and similar misc. metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
