Estimator / Project Manager

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Houston, TX area. Our client is seeking an Estimator / Project Manager to bid projects and carry awarded work through delivery.

Position Responsibilities:

- Prepare estimates and proposals for steel and metals projects

- Manage awarded projects from contract through closeout

- Serve as the main contact for customers on bids and active projects

- Coordinate detailing, fabrication, and installation schedules

- Track project costs, change orders, and billings

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing

- Review contracts, specifications, and drawings

- Submit and track RFIs and submittals

- Coordinate with the shop and field on production and deliveries

- Report bid and project status to leadership

Position Skills:

- 3+ years of estimating and/or project management experience in steel, metals, or PEMB

- Strong ability to read construction drawings

- Experience with estimating and project management software

- Strong organizational and customer communication skills

- Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
