Job Description

NOTE: This key position is for a proposal effort that should be awarded by the end of November 2026. The candidate must live within 30 minutes of the City of New Orleans.  All resumes are due to TriTech by noon on 11/13/2026. TriTech Enterprise Systems (TriTech) is seeking an "ETL Developer" for a State of LA client. This candidate will design, build, and manage data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into storage systems, ensuring data quality, consistency, and usability for analytics and business intelligence.

Core Responsibilities

ETL developers are responsible for managing the flow of data from multiple sources to centralized storage systems. Their work typically involves three main stages:

  • Extract: Gathering raw data from various sources such as databases, APIs, flat files, or cloud platforms to provide a comprehensive view of organizational data.
  • Transform: Cleaning, validating, and reshaping the data to meet business requirements. This may include formatting, aggregating, or enriching data to ensure it is accurate and consistent.
  • Load: Storing the transformed data into a target system, such as a data warehouse, data lake, or database, making it ready for reporting, analytics, or operational use.
ETL developers also design ETL workflows, optimize performance, manage failures, and document processes to maintain reliable and efficient data pipelines.

Skills and Tools

ETL developers require a combination of technical and analytical skills:

  • Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
  • ETL Tools: Familiarity with platforms like Informatica, Talend, Microsoft SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator, or modern tools like Airbyte.
  • Data Modeling and Analysis: Understanding of data structures, data warehousing concepts, and business intelligence requirements.
  • Workflow Orchestration: Tools like Apache Airflow to manage and schedule ETL processes.
  • Data Quality Management: Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data through validation and cleansing techniques.

ETL developers are crucial for organizations that rely on data-driven decision-making. They ensure that data is clean, structured, and accessible, supporting analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. Their work enables teams to make informed decisions, optimize operations, and gain insights from large and complex datasets

TriTech is an equal opportunity employer.
