The Event Sales Manager supports the hotel’s group and event revenue goals by proactively selling, coordinating, and servicing social, corporate, and catered events. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional looking to build a career in hotel sales, with hands-on exposure to the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry through execution and post-event follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Respond promptly to incoming event and group inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms
Conduct site tours and present event spaces in a professional, engaging manner
Prepare and distribute proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs)
Assist in negotiating event terms, pricing, and concessions under management guidance
Proactively prospect new business through outbound calls, networking, and local partnerships
Event Coordination & Execution
Serve as a primary contact for assigned events, ensuring a seamless handoff to operations
Collaborate closely with Catering, Banquets, Front Office, and AV teams
Ensure all event details are clearly documented and communicated
Attend pre-con meetings and, when needed, on-site events to ensure client satisfaction
Account Management & Administration
Maintain accurate records in the CRM and event management systems
Track leads, conversion rates, and monthly production goals
Support senior sales managers with reporting, forecasting, and special projects
Participate in ongoing sales training and departmental meetings
Qualifications & Skills
1–3 years of experience in hotel sales, events, catering, or hospitality operations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Professional demeanor with strong customer service instincts
Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Delphi, Opera, or similar systems a plus
Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred
Equivalent hospitality experience will be considered
