Essential Job Duties Inspection & Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and detailed inspections on fire apparatus, ambulances, and other public safety vehicles. Diagnosis & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix complex issues with engines, transmissions, pumps, and specialized electronic systems. Upfitting: Install and configure new emergency equipment (lights, radios, sirens) on new vehicles. Testing: Test overhauled equipment to ensure it meets operational standards for safety and efficiency. Key Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and vehicle electrical systems. Ability to use diagnostic tools, hoists, and hand tools.
