Excavator / Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Boston, MA - Metro-North & Greater Boston Area

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $30 to $40 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Excavator / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team.

In this role, you will operate heavy machinery to support site preparation, trenching, and earthmoving activities. You will work alongside supervisors, site managers, and other team members to complete construction projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment for excavation, trenching, site preparation, and earthmoving.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and site plans.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Assist with additional construction site activities, including concrete work and general labor.
• Collaborate with supervisors, site managers, and team members to complete assigned work.
• Follow all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and municipal guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience operating excavators and skid steers.
• Experience operating both mini and full-size excavators.
• Valid heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent training.
• Valid hoisting license required.
• Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, trenching, and site preparation.
• Experience driving a dump truck.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to perform physical labor and assist with tasks beyond equipment operation.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing job site needs.

Compensation & Benefits

• $30 to $40 per hour, based on experience.
• Full-time position.
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for hours worked over 40.
