Organization Information The mission of Russell County Schools is to increase each student''s academic and social achievement to a proficient or higher level. The driving force is evident by student''s scoring proficient or above & out scores the State''s average. RC schools has been recognized for its excellence in academic and extracurricular activities. UCES overall KCCT Test Scores rank 15th in the State; Agriculture programs top 10 statewide in KOSSA testing; Girls golf placed 10th in State; Band placed in State Finals 2011; RC is noted top 10 of Ky 21st CCLC after school programs; and SES Honorable Mention on TELL(Teaching, Empowering, Leading, and Learning)Survey. Willingness to work extensively with students presenting behavioral disorders/challenges. Must be willing and able to complete Safe Crisis Management Training. Must be willing to collaborate with regular classroom teachers. Have knowledge & ability to implement the new Kentucky Academic Standards: Reading/Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies. Must have knowledge of curriculum and best teaching strategies for improving student learning. Must be available to participate in PD training sessions in aligning curriculum both vertically/horizontally for all content areas. Must have knowledge/implementation of ARC meetings and Discipline Management Skills.
