    Description

Data Center Engineering (DCE) is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized Executive Assistant to support the Vice President of DCE. This role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with high volumes of complex, time-sensitive work. The successful candidate will be a proactive partner who anticipates needs, manages competing priorities, and enables the VP to focus on the most strategic aspects of the business. This role handles confidential information with the utmost integrity and interacts effectively with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners across a global organization. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment where they own decisions, act on behalf of the leader, and continuously raise the bar on how the executive office operates.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Manage a complex, high-volume calendar across multiple time zones - proactively resolving scheduling conflicts, prioritizing commitments, and protecting time for strategic focus.
    • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel, including detailed itineraries, agendas, and logistics in compliance with existing policies and procedures; adjust in real time to changing plans.
    • Own the logistics of key team rhythms and events - staff meetings, business reviews, all-hands, offsites, and leadership summits - including materials, venues, and follow-ups.
    • Act as a liaison and trusted point of contact between the VP and internal/external stakeholders, exercising sound judgment on prioritization and escalation.
    • Partner with the leadership team and other EAs to coordinate cross-org initiatives and ensure seamless information flow.
    • Support space planning, team onboarding logistics, and organizational operations as the team scales.
    • Handle confidential and sensitive information (org changes, personnel matters, business strategy) with complete discretion.
    • Continuously identify and implement improvements to executive-office processes, tools, and workflows.
    • Plan the annual organizational calendar and facilitate the integration and prioritization of emerging priorities
    • Support and, at times, manage small to medium projects based on organizational needs and professional development interests

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
