Impact, visibility, growth! If you are a seasoned Executive Assistant and are looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your organizational and strategic acumen in a visible and mission-critical role, you should look closely at this opportunity.

Amazon's Stores Security (StoresSec) organization is looking for a resourceful, innovative and driven Executive Assistant (EA) to partner closely with 2 Directors in our dynamic, customer-facing Privacy organization. We are looking for a true strategic partner, who will provide proactive and collaborative assistance to our executives by anticipating problems, creating contingency plans and taking effective action with appropriate urgency in response to situations that require quick turnaround. This role will work from our Seattle Office and report to the Director of Security and Privacy Compliance. Our team drives urgent, high impact compliance programs across Amazon's consumer businesses. We often engage with multiple Director, VP and S-team leaders so we need someone who can partner effectively with several other executive offices in parallel.

As an Amazon EA, you will work in a team environment, building effective working relationships and partnering successfully with leaders of all levels inside and outside of the organization. It's a challenging and multi-faceted role that requires the capacity to own a variety of projects, many with high degrees of visibility and impact and as such, requires strong integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, professionalism and a keen eye for detail.

The successful candidate will be highly responsive and an effective communicator with the ability to deliver results across multiple objectives simultaneously - often under ambiguous circumstances and competing deadlines. Other critical keys to success in this role are a calm and unflappable demeanor and great sense of humor.

Key job responsibilities

  • Complex executive calendar management with detailed scheduling across multiple high-level calendars
  • Coordination and detailed planning of extensive domestic and international travel, including organizing trip agendas and local logistics
  • Timely response and appropriate escalation as security or privacy events occur
  • Exec preparation, including detailed coordination of reading materials and background information to ensure executive readiness for daily events
  • Completing expense reports, purchase orders, and managing corporate card purchases; participation in budget planning and tracking as needed
  • Planning and coordinating team activities and events
  • Serving as liaison between leadership and team members across multiple geographic regions
  • Managing other core administrative activities (space planning, new-hire onboarding, organizational charts, supply ordering)

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
