Sodexo Campus Services is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead culinary operations at Boston University Fenway Campus in Boston, MA. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced campus dining environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional food quality, developing teams, and creating memorable dining experiences.

 

The Executive Chef 2 will oversee the daily culinary operations, provide leadership to the kitchen team, ensure food safety and quality standards are met, and partner with campus leadership to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is an energetic, collaborative leader with strong culinary expertise, financial acumen, and a passion for mentoring others.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead all day-to-day culinary operations for campus dining.
  • Deliver high-quality, innovative food offerings while maintaining consistency and presentation standards.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor culinary staff to build a strong, engaged team.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and Sodexo standards.
  • Manage food and labor costs while achieving financial and operational goals.
  • Build strong relationships with campus partners, students, and guests to enhance the dining experience.
  • Oversee menu execution, production planning, inventory management, and purchasing.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to implement strategic initiatives and continuous process improvements.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused workplace culture.

What You Bring:
  • Strong hands-on culinary leadership experience in a high-volume food service environment.
  • Experience leading, developing, and motivating diverse culinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional quality and customer service.
  • Solid knowledge of food production, menu planning, food costing, and labor management.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience utilizing food management systems, such as Sodexo Food Management System (FMS), The Market Connection (TMC), or similar inventory and reporting platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
  • Campus dining, healthcare, hospitality, or large-scale food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
