Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in food service management or assistant management roles
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Physical ability to stand for up to 5 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work 50–60 hours per week

Executive Chef Preferred Background & Skills

  • Seafood experience is highly valued
  • Experience training sous chefs and kitchen managers
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in kitchen budgeting and cost control

Executive Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee food production quality and ensure operational standards are consistently met
  • Train, coach, and review the performance of sous chefs and the kitchen team
  • Analyze financial reports and adjust operations to meet profitability goals
  • Conduct regular meetings with kitchen management to drive engagement and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all labor, health, and safety regulations
  • Manage kitchen shifts and maintain high standards of service and cleanliness
