Description and Requirements
Lenovo is seeking a strategic, business-solutions-driven leader to serve as Executive Director, Global ESG & Regulatory Compliance. This role reports to the SVP, Chief Legal & Corporate Responsibility Officer and is responsible for leading Lenovo's global ESG reporting, sustainability regulatory compliance, and product environmental compliance programs.
This role plays a critical part in enabling business growth and market access by ensuring compliance with evolving global regulatory requirements while supporting customer and investor expectations. In addition, the Executive Director oversees enterprise ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 50001) and aligns ESG and compliance programs with customer sustainability requirements, ecolabel expectations, and commercial needs.
Key responsibilities include leading global ESG disclosures (including HKEX and CSRD readiness), defining enterprise ESG strategy and commitments (including net-zero and 2030 ESG KPIs), and managing external ESG ratings and surveys (e.g., CDP, EcoVadis, MSCI). The role oversees product and environmental regulatory compliance programs and governance structures, including the Product Compliance Review Board and associated tools and processes, and leads the preparation and delivery of ESG updates and materials to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. The role also owns the systems, tools, and digital infrastructure that enable ESG reporting and regulatory compliance, including advancing automation and AI-enabled capabilities.
The Executive Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, engaging regularly with executive teams on ESG performance, regulatory developments, and risk management. The role also supports investor engagement, customer ESG requirements, and external interactions with regulators and industry groups to anticipate and influence evolving standards.
This position leads a global, multi-disciplinary team spanning ESG reporting, regulatory compliance, and ISO management systems, and is responsible for building scalable processes and capabilities to manage increasing regulatory complexity.
