About the Opportunity

A respected, nonprofit regional healthcare system is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Information Systems Operations & Technology to provide strategic and operational leadership for enterprise technology infrastructure and information systems operations.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this executive will ensure the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the organization's technology environment while supporting clinical, operational, and business objectives. Position Summary

The Executive Director of Information Systems Operations & Technology is responsible for the operational integrity, availability, security, and performance of the organization's technology infrastructure and enterprise information systems. This leader oversees day-to-day IT operations while driving long-term infrastructure planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with executive leadership, clinical stakeholders, and business partners, this individual ensures technology services support a safe, efficient, and high-performing healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all IT operations, infrastructure, and enterprise technology services.
• Ensure the availability, performance, reliability, and security of mission-critical clinical, business, and operational information systems 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Lead enterprise infrastructure strategy, operational planning, and technology modernization initiatives.
• Partner with cybersecurity leadership to proactively identify, mitigate, and respond to information security risks.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of IT directors, managers, engineers, analysts, and technical support professionals.
• Establish operational standards, service levels, governance, and performance metrics that support organizational goals.
• Collaborate with executive, clinical, and operational leaders to align technology initiatives with strategic priorities.
• Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, privacy, and security standards.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
• Identify operational challenges and implement effective, scalable solutions that improve organizational efficiency and system performance.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a related field.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive healthcare information technology leadership experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience leading managers, technical teams, and enterprise IT operations.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale infrastructure, operations, and technology initiatives within a complex healthcare environment.
• Experience with IT service management, infrastructure operations, disaster recovery, cybersecurity collaboration, and regulatory compliance.
