LedgerRun is looking for an Executive Director of Payment Services to own the delivery, operations, and growth of our payments offering for clinical trial sponsors, CROs, and research sites. This is a senior leadership role for someone who has spent their career in life sciences services and understands what it takes to move money accurately and on time across sites, investigators, and patients in a regulated environment.
You’ll lead the teams responsible for payment operations and client delivery, act as the executive point of contact for our largest sponsor and CRO relationships, and shape how the service scales as our client base grows.
What you’ll own
- Full ownership of the Payments Services function: operations, client delivery, and service quality
- Executive relationships with sponsor, CRO, and site-network clients, including escalations and renewals
- Service design and process standardization across investigator payments, site payments, and patient reimbursement
- Partnership with Product and Engineering on the platform roadmap, translating client and operational needs into requirements
- Team leadership, hiring, and development across payment operations and client services
- Operating metrics: payment cycle times, accuracy, client satisfaction, and margin on delivered services
What we’re looking for
- A career built in life sciences services. You’ve spent 15+ years working in clinical research, pharma, or the services that support them — at CROs, site networks, clinical technology or payments vendors, consultancies, or similar.
- Experience leading at the executive level. You’ve carried full responsibility for a function, whether that’s reflected by your title today or a role you’ve grown from.
- Comfort in a smaller, less-built-out environment. Somewhere along the way you’ve worked at a company under 500 people, so you know what it means to lead when the process doesn’t exist yet and the team is still being built.
- Depth on the services side of pharma. You’ve worked for an organization whose clients are life sciences companies, and you understand how sponsors and CROs buy, evaluate, and escalate.
