EXECUTIVE PASTOR

SUMMARY
The Executive Pastor serves as a senior executive leader, tasked with aligning staff and resources to implement the vision of the Lead Pastor for our House. With a growth and impact mindset, this position is responsible for the operational vitality of the Passion City Church in Washington D.C. This encompasses the full scope of the church's infrastructure, including facilities, HR, IT, legal, security, real estate, development, Door Holder volunteer teams and local engagement. The Executive Pastor enables Passion City Church DC to run with operational excellence, ensuring sustainable growth, strong stewardship, and unified execution across all areas of our church.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Leadership & Strategic Alignment
• Serves on the executive team to align Passion City Church DC's operational strategies under its vision and mission.
• Collaborates across the executive team, including working closely with the Director of Finance on the annual budget.
• Acts as a trusted leader across every room of our house—ensuring they are supported by scalable systems, data-driven decisions, and faithful stewardship.
• Develop and report metrics to Lead Pastor to provide clear and helpful insights into ministry progress
• Networks and maintains positive relationships with current and prospective donors, and local civic communities.
Operations & Organizational Development
• Supervise day-to-day operations of the church.
• Oversees operational systems across facilities, HR, IT and security.
• Oversee onboarding and operations of our "Door Holder" serving teams.
• Work with Lead Pastor to cultivate relationships with and expand our donor network, including for major capital projects.
• Leads processes for recruiting and onboarding new personnel.
• Manage end-to-end real estate relationships and strategy, including stakeholder communication, project negotiations, and contract renewals.
• Scale an operational infrastructure that effectively supports church initiatives.
• Oversee engagement with local ministry partners, including ongoing service and our annual “Love DC” weekend projects.
• Lead organizational policies, including contracts, and vendor relations.
• Ensures consistent communication, project management, and operational discipline across a fast-paced, high-impact team environment.
• Maintains strong relationships with Passion's network of legal counsel.

• Build and lead a high-capacity operations team marked by humility, excellence, and trust.
• Champion staff care, development, and a culture of excellence that honors Jesus.
• Integrates spiritual formation and organizational health into systems and practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the growth and development of the current and future staff, currently including two direct reports managing volunteer service across church activities and local partnerships.

This individual must bring sharp business acumen, Spirit-led leadership, and deep alignment with the heartbeat of Passion City Church DC for the name and renown of Jesus.

Professional
• 10+ years of executive leadership experience in operations or business development—preferably with experience in ministry or nonprofit organizations.
• Proven experience managing multi-entity organizations and diverse revenue streams.
• Demonstrated ability to scale teams, implement infrastructure, and lead through change.
• Excellent strategic insight, organizational development skills, and financial literacy.
• Skilled and proven track record of facilitating large scale, multi-faceted negotiations.
Education
• Bachelor's degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.
