Experience Designer Lead
POSITION LOCATION:
1. Most Preferred Pittsburgh, PA, 15222

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 remote
Pay Rate: $50-65/hr. on W2 ONLY
LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: 6 Months Contract to Hire role
FUNCTION OF THE GROUP: Mitigating Risk/Generating Revenue/Cost Reduction
INITIATIVES/PROJECTS: Backfill of a critical Experience Designer to maintain continuity of feature delivery across digital channels and avoid delays in active initiatives. Provides dedicated support to align business requirements, stakeholder needs, and engineering execution, ensuring development-ready design solutions Enables clear communication of design decisions and rationale to leadership, supporting timely decision-making and reducing rework across teams
ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES: Partner with other designers and developers to create simplified user experiences and customer journeys across our digital experiences.
Attend weekly team reviews with the product team, understand requirements and work within deadlines to deliver. Review experiences with design leadership after product approval and work to ensure the experience is designed as reviewed by legal, risk and compliance partners.
MUST HAVE SKILLS (10+ Years of Experience Required):
1. Ability to align to leadership needs and expectations,
2. Native Mobile Applications,
3. Expert-level Figma experience - 6 years,
4. Project management skills/self management
PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONS:
1. Can you share your process solving for a product that will need be available in both a native app and desktop browsers for customers?
2. How have you handled situations where your design work is taking long than estimated or you are at risk for missing a deadline?
3. Can you share your experience working with content designers and have they been involved in discovery or are they typically more present at the end to review content?
INTERVIEW PROCESS: Initial interview (30 min call) with hiring manger to talk about the open role and team dynamic. Answer any questions relating to this role on the team. Second interview (1 hour) with design team to share portfolio and discussing how projects work. -
STACK RANKING (MOST IMPORTANT TO LEAST IMPORTANT):
1. Experience building cohesive user experiences cross-channel (Native app, online desktop).
2. Lead in designing and prototyping new/enhanced user experiences.
3. Collaborating with business and development partners to take requirements and translate them into a simple user experience.
4. Understand and support existing design system to support consistency, usability, long-term growth, cross-channel.
