Experienced Bartender

Piatti Mill Valley is looking for an experienced, polished Bartender who takes pride in executing a great beverage program - consistently, shift after shift. If you are a seasoned professional who values structure, precision, and delivering an exceptional guest experience within an established framework, we want to hear from you.

This is not a role for someone looking to reinvent the wheel or bring in their own concept. It is a role for someone who understands that consistency and refinement are their own kind of craft - and who finds real satisfaction in being the best at executing a well-defined program. This position requires weekend and closing shift availability and 3 years of bartending experience with an established bar program.

Established in 1987, Piatti is a beloved neighborhood Italian trattoria with deep roots in the communities we serve. Our Mill Valley location is the flagship of the portfolio - a warm, lively restaurant known for house-made pasta, a thoughtful wine and cocktail program, and hospitality that feels both refined and genuinely welcoming.

Our bar program is built on quality, consistency, and intentionality. We take our beverage offerings seriously, and we expect our bartenders to as well.

THE ROLE

As a Full-Time Bartender at Piatti Mill Valley, you will be a cornerstone of the guest experience - behind the bar and on the floor. You will work within our established beverage program, upholding the standards and specifications that define the Piatti bar. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and serving cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages precisely to recipe and specification
• Providing warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service to bar and dining guests
• Maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked bar throughout every shift
• Accurately using the POS system for all orders and payments
• Opening and closing the bar according to established procedures and checklists
• Assisting and directing Bar Backs and Cocktail Servers to ensure smooth, efficient service
• Applying responsible alcohol service standards and identifying and responding to intoxication or underage service situations
• Contributing to weekly and monthly inventory processes

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are hiring for character and professionalism as much as skill. The right candidate brings:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Bartender in a full-service, quality-driven restaurant environment
• Deep familiarity with spirits, wine, beer, and classic cocktail preparation - and a respect for executing recipes as written
• Confidence and composure during high-volume service with a guest-first mindset throughout
• The organizational discipline to manage a full bar setup - stock, prep, cleanliness - without being prompted
• A genuine team orientation - you support your colleagues and understand that the whole room wins together
• Strong POS proficiency and accurate cash/payment handling
• Responsible Beverage Service certification (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)
• Food Handler's Certification
• Must be 21 years of age or older
