Experienced Hospice Medical Director position in Indiana - Hybrid

Indiana University Health Medical Group in partnership with Redcrest Hospice provides compassionate, family-centered care to those with life-limiting illnesses. We are looking for a physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Hospice services in a 39-county service area. This Physician will lead efforts across the system to establish standardized consistent work that meets clinical and regulatory requirements. IU Health Hospice has created a structure to provide on-site Physician leadership at the regional level while maintaining consistent high-quality work across the IU Health system.

This role offers a unique opportunity to provide physician leadership within a growing hospice program while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, regional medical directors, and system leaders. The position is approximately 80% remote, with limited in-person responsibility. 

Key Responsibilities
* Provide physician oversight of hospice plans of care and support clinical decision-making across the program. 
* Serve as a physician resource to hospice nursing and interdisciplinary teams. 
* Participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings and provide shared physician oversight for 4 regional IDG (Indiana District Group) hospice operations. 
* Provide education, training and clinical guidance to hospice team members. 
* Collaborate with hospice administration on system-wide programs, including employee engagement, pharmaceutical sourcing, and budget planning. 
* Oversee 1 physicians and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
* Lead quality improvement initiatives across the system.
* Maintain contractual relationships with all IU Health hospitals for in-patient hospice care.

Qualifications
* Required: Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
* Preferred: Hospice Medical Director experience; fellowship training in Hospice/Palliative Care is preferred but not required.
* Required licensure: Active Indiana medical license
