In addition, the division plays a significant role in surgical education, supporting one of the nation’s largest general surgery residency programs by training approximately 58 residents and offering extensive clinical exposure, mentorship, and multidisciplinary learning opportunities across diverse service lines. Expectations for the Division Chief include, but are not limited to, providing strategic leadership for the division by establishing annual academic priorities, mentoring the faculty, conducting comprehensive annual faculty reviews, and actively participating in graduate medical education.
