About This Opportunity As a Laminator at Sea Fox Boat Works, you are a critical part of the boat-building process. Your craftsmanship directly impacts the strength, durability, and quality of every vessel we produce. Our Laminators play an essential role in creating the foundation of every Sea Fox boat by applying fiberglass materials with precision, consistency, and attention to detail. If you have experience in marine manufacturing, fiberglass production, composite materials, or other hands-on manufacturing environments, this is an opportunity to build a career with a company where quality craftsmanship matters. Position Summary Sea Fox Boats is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laminator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for laying fiberglass mat, woven roving, and other composite materials into molds, applying resin systems, and ensuring all lamination work meets production specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working with fiberglass and composite materials, understands proper lamination techniques, and takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities
Apply fiberglass mat, cloth, woven roving, and other reinforcement materials to molds according to production specifications.
Mix and apply resin, catalyst, and related materials using established manufacturing procedures.
Roll and consolidate fiberglass materials to remove air pockets and ensure proper bonding.
Build laminate schedules according to engineering and production requirements.
Inspect molds and materials before beginning the lamination process.
Trim, repair, and finish fiberglass components as required.
Monitor cure times and ensure completed parts meet quality requirements.
Identify and report defects, material issues, or quality concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
Safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, rollers, and other lamination equipment.
Follow all safety procedures regarding fiberglass materials, resins, solvents, and personal protective equipment.
Work collaboratively with other production departments to maintain workflow and production schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in fiberglass lamination, composite manufacturing, boat building, or related manufacturing environments preferred.
Knowledge of fiberglass materials, resin systems, catalysts, and composite manufacturing processes preferred.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and production schedules.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, rollers, and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to identify defects and perform basic repairs when needed.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
Dependable attendance and ability to meet production deadlines.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements required for fiberglass application and finishing.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fiberglass materials, resins, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
Must be comfortable working inside molds, hulls, decks, and confined production areas when required.
Must wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, eye protection, and other safety equipment.
