Experienced Ophthalmic Technician

Location: Jacksonville, FL
Job Type: Full-Time


We are a busy, well-established private ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for a dependable, compassionate professional who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.


Responsibilities


  • Perform comprehensive patient workups, including medical and ocular histories

  • Measure visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and perform refractions

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic imaging

  • Assist the physician with minor in-office procedures and injections

  • Prepare patients before procedures and monitor them during recovery

  • Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Educate patients regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care

  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical workflow

Qualifications


  • Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required

  • COA or COT certification preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and EMR systems

  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

  • Friendly, professional attitude with excellent patient care skills
