Sign on bonus to be paid to experienced skid steer operators only. $500 sign on bonus to be paid $250 after 30 days and $250 after 60 days of full time employment. Position Summary T&K Asphalt Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Skid Steer Operator to support asphalt, site preparation, maintenance, and snow operations throughout the year. This position is responsible for operating skid steers and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner while assisting with equipment maintenance, transportation, and job site operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating skid steers with various attachments, possess strong equipment operating skills, and demonstrate a commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate skid steers equipped with a variety of attachments. Operate specialized attachments including, but not limited to, road saws, sweepers, trenchers, trimmers, buckets, forks, and brooms. Operate excavators, snow plows, and other assigned equipment as needed. Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Monitor and maintain proper fluid levels, including fuel, hydraulic fluid, oil, coolant, and other required maintenance items. Assist with preventative maintenance activities and report equipment deficiencies promptly. Communicate equipment issues, repair needs, and safety concerns to the Shop Foreman and Maintenance Department. Drive company vehicles and trucks as assigned to transport crews, materials, and equipment. Follow all instructions provided by supervisors and foremen. Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure equipment is stored properly when not in use. Assist with site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and other labor-related tasks as needed. Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Participate in winter snow operations, including plowing and snow removal activities. Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum of 2 years of skid steer operating experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency operating skid steers with hand controls. Experience operating various skid steer attachments including road saws, sweepers, trenchers, trimmers, forks, and buckets. Experience operating excavators and other construction equipment is preferred. Valid Massachusetts Class D Drivers License required. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card. OSHA training preferred. Massachusetts and Rhode Island Hoisting Licenses preferred. Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and inspection procedures. Ability to recognize and report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns. Strong commitment to safety and compliance with company policies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and willingness to work flexible schedules as needed.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Work is performed primarily outdoors on construction, maintenance, and snow removal sites. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, traffic, and active construction environments. Regular exposure to adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind. May work around fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, and other potentially hazardous materials. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and equipment operation throughout the workday. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. Must be able to perform physical labor for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud noise levels, dust, vibration, and outdoor environmental conditions. Participation in snow operations may require overnight shifts, extended hours, weekend work, holiday work, and emergency response during inclement weather.

Employment Conditions

This is a seasonal full-time position and is subject to seasonal layoff periods based on workload, weather conditions, and business needs. Overtime, weekend work, holiday work, and flexible scheduling may be required. Participation in winter snow operations is required. Employment is contingent upon maintaining a valid drivers license, DOT Medical Card, and any required certifications or licenses.
