Pay Rate: $25.00-$30.00/hr

Shift: 7:00am-5:30pm Monday-Saturday

TradeSTAR Austin is hiring experienced Level II Structured Cabling Technicians for a major commercial project in Cedar Park, Texas!
TradeSTAR is partnering with a recognized provider of commercial telecommunications and technology infrastructure solutions, to identify skilled technicians with hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and building out commercial structured cabling systems.
We're looking for technicians who understand the demands of large commercial construction projects and can deliver professional, organized, high-quality installations.

Technical Skills & Experience
Structured Cabling Installation
Installing, pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
Installing copper and fiber optic backbone cabling
Installing J-hooks, bridle rings, cable tray, basket tray, and ladder rack
Maintaining proper cable separation, bend radius, and cable management
Installing and terminating workstation outlets, keystone jacks, and patch panels
Performing 110-style and 66-block terminations
Following TIA/EIA cabling standards and installation practices

MDF / IDF Telecom Closet Build-Outs
Building out commercial MDF and IDF telecommunications rooms
Installing 2-post and 4-post equipment racks and cabinets
Installing ladder rack, overhead cable runway, and vertical/horizontal cable managers
Mounting patch panels, fiber enclosures, and rack-mounted equipment
Dressing, routing, bundling, and organizing cables within telecom closets
Terminating and labeling copper cabling at patch panels
Assisting with fiber optic enclosure installation and fiber terminations
Maintaining professional cable management and clean rack layouts
Following rack elevations, blueprints, and telecom room layouts
Testing & Troubleshooting
Copper cable testing, wire mapping, and certification
Experience using Fluke Networks testers or similar equipment
Troubleshooting opens, shorts, split pairs, and termination issues
Assisting with fiber optic testing and documentation
Recording test results and correcting installation deficiencies
Supporting project punch lists and final quality inspections
Commercial Construction Experience

Qualified candidates should have experience working on large commercial installations such as:
Corporate Campuses & Office Buildings
Data Centers & Technology Facilities
Hospitals & Healthcare Facilities
Schools & University Campuses
Industrial & Manufacturing Facilities
Large Commercial New Construction Projects

Qualifications
2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred
Strong experience installing and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
Hands-on experience with MDF/IDF closet build-outs and rack installations
Ability to terminate patch panels and workstation outlets independently
Experience installing cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and cable management systems
Ability to read blueprints, identify cable pathways, and follow installation specifications
Familiarity with copper cable testing and certification
Experience working on active commercial construction sites
Strong attention to workmanship, productivity, and jobsite safety
BICSI, Panduit, CommScope, Leviton, or other manufacturer training is a plus
