This is a high-priority opportunity for an export professional who can step into a standalone role, take ownership of export operations, and make an immediate impact with minimal training.

The company previously had internal team members managing portions of the export function but now requires an individual with stronger export expertise to take ownership of the process. Export responsibilities are currently shared among existing employees, and leadership is investing in a dedicated export resource. This position has been identified as the organization's highest-priority supply chain/logistics hire.

Position Details

• Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, regular business hours

About the Role

This individual will serve as the primary export-focused employee in the Houston office, coordinating international shipments, managing export documentation, ensuring compliance, and partnering with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to facilitate timely delivery of products globally.

While the hiring manager oversees a logistics team based in Oklahoma, this position functions as the dedicated export specialist locally and requires a self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of the export process.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate international shipments from order receipt through final delivery.

• Prepare, review, and maintain export documentation, including:

• Commercial Invoices

• Packing Lists

• Bills of Lading

• Certificates of Origin

• Country-specific export documentation

• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers.

• Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and international trade requirements.

• Conduct documentation reviews and pre-shipment audits for accuracy and completeness.

• Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates and exceptions.

• Resolve logistics and documentation issues efficiently.

• Partner with Customer Service, Logistics, Sales, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to meet customer requirements.

• Maintain accurate shipment records and ERP system data.

• Support process improvements related to export operations and logistics workflows.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 3 years of export operations, international logistics, or export coordination experience.

• Strong knowledge of export processes, international shipping, and export documentation.

• Experience working directly with freight forwarders, customs brokers, or international carriers.

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, Oracle, or similar.

Preferred

• Supply chain and logistics experience.

• Experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or energy environments.

• Working knowledge of:

• IMDG

• IATA

• 49 CFR regulations

• Hazardous materials shipping experience.

• International trade compliance knowledge.

Education

• Degree preferred

• Relevant export operations experience is valued more heavily than formal education.
