Job Purpose
Extrusion Operator
Location: Scranton, PA
Shift: Night Shift- 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
Pay: $25.00-$31.00
We're seeking a skilled Extrusion Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion equipment in alignment with our quality, safety, and production standards. Principal Accountabilities
Set up and operate extrusion machines according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), schedules, and order specifications. Coordinate with other setup operators during teardowns and new setups.
Continuously monitor machines, materials, and environmental conditions to detect issues and ensure smooth operation. Make real-time adjustments as needed.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and internal quality standards. Document all findings and take corrective action when necessary.
Accurately record production data using Ignition & M3 systems and follow all required documentation protocols.
Material Handling:
Clean and load dryer vessels, weigh material at the end of an MO, issue the material used in M3 and requisition material from the warehouse to stage at the lines in accordance with the production schedule.
Preventive Maintenance & Housekeeping:
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain machine efficiency and workplace safety (6S practices). Support general upkeep of the production area.
Follow all company safety protocols, SOPs, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure a safe work environment.
Support the team with additional tasks as needed, that may include training new employees and assisting with process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and powered hand trucks to load materials and transport finished goods
Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on machines and tool

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
High school diploma or GED required
OSHA-certified forklift operation experience (stand-up and walk-behind trucks)
Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand/power tools and measuring instruments
Understanding of raw materials, production flow, and quality control practices
Computer proficiency, especially in M3 systems or similar ERP platforms
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety

The salary for this position is $24.23. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
