Position Summary

The Bistro Attendant is responsible for providing guests with warm, engaging, and efficient service in the Courtyard Bistro. This role combines food preparation, beverage service (including Starbucks® products and alcoholic beverages), and cashier/guest service responsibilities to ensure a seamless and welcoming dining experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, deliver exceptional hospitality, and maintain Marriott brand standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests promptly with a friendly, professional demeanor, ensuring Courtyard’s hospitality standards are consistently upheld.

  • Prepare and serve food and beverage items, including Starbucks® coffee drinks, cocktails, beer, and wine, according to standardized recipes and brand standards.

  • Accurately take guest orders, enter them into the POS system, and process payments.

  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, and promotions to effectively answer guest questions and provide recommendations.

  • Set up, stock, and maintain the Bistro, including food prep stations, beverage stations, and service areas, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating food and beverage supplies.

  • Follow Marriott’s standards for food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness at all times.

  • Balance cash drawer and reconcile daily transactions accurately.

  • Provide support to fellow team members, ensuring smooth operations across shifts.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior food & beverage, barista, or restaurant experience preferred but not required.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and remain calm under pressure.

  • Basic math and computer skills required (POS system knowledge a plus).

  • Ability to meet Marriott grooming and uniform standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

  • Work flexible schedules, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
